The
DIP display modules are extremely compact and have a max view area
for the space available.
For example a display with a viewing area of 61 x 19 mm
has an outline of only 75 x 27 mm. This is achieved by removing the trough
hole connector and mounting holes found on standard displays and replacing
these with a ready
assembled header.
Assembly is very easy: Position the display onto the PCB and solder the header
in place. No need for screws, cable connection or pin header saving
time and money.
All modules from the DIP series come with a standard controller.
The character displays pin-out and software is compatible with the
HD44780 controller and the graphics displays have the SED1520,
KS01707/0108 or T6963 controller onboard. The footprint of some of
the alphanumeric and the graphic displays are the same so upgrade from text to
graphics display is easy done. For example a 2x16 character display could easily
be changed for the 122x32 graphics display. Touch-screen:
Many displays are available with resistive touch-screen. ( To order
touch-screen add TP to the partnumber). The intelligent
eDIP displays with touch-screen option (TP) also include the integrated
touch-screen controller.
Backlight: LED backlight is
included. And for 128x64 and 240x128 pixel graphics displays the
negative voltage supply is provided onboard. 5V single-supply
operation is possible thanks to the built-in voltage doublers (exception:
EA DIP122). Temperature
of -20ºC to +70ºC is standard, this means at -20ºC the display will
still function rapidly. Most of the display modules have a temperature
compensation circuit build in.
Adapter PCB 9907-DIP converts the DIP footprint to a
conventional display connectors.
