MMS Electronics supplies and stocks a wide range of mini graphic displays in LCD, OLED and TFT technologies from European display supplier DISPLAY VISIONS. The displays are available with optional analogue touch panels.
The micro-displays are hardly bigger than a stamp and are available in both OLED and IPS-TFT technology offering sharp contrast in all viewing directions.
The EA W096016 OLED displays are 0.84 inches diagonally with a resolution of 96 x 16 white pixels and active area (AA) of 21 x 3.5 mm. For OLED displays no extra LED backlight is required as the OLED pixels illuminate. This results that the display is only 1.3 mm thick. The integrated graphic controller is SSD1306B is. The operating temperature for these displays is between -40°C to +80°Celsius and unchanged short response time of 10 microseconds. The EA W096016-ALW module has an I²C interface bus with flex stamp solder tail and the EA W096016-BLW has an I²C interface bus and SPI interface with a 34mm flex for a ZIF plug connection.

The EA TFT009-81 colour IPS_TFT displays are 0.96 inches diagonally with a resolution of 160x80 pixels and active area (AA) of 22 x 11 mm. The IPS technology with All Angle Colour Stability (AACS) provides unchanged colour and contrasts even with changing viewing angles. They can be used without loss in quality in portrait (80 x 160) or landscape mode (160 x 80). The brightness of the EA TFT009-81 display is typically 500 cd/m² and is readable in direct sunlight. Applications can be found in instrumentation, industry and medicine. The display is only 1.5 mm thick (without touch panel). The integrated graphic controller is ST7735S and has a 3 or 4-wire SPI interface with flex stamp solder tail. The EA TFT009-81AITC version has a PCAP touch panel. The touch panel is controlled via the I²C bus interface and flex for a ZIF plug connection.
All micro- and mini-displays are readily available in small or large production quantities from MMS Electronics. To speed up the design cycle Arduino and Raspberry Pico sample code for the EA TFT009-81AINN is available. Designing a product with a colour TFT display and touch-screen does not have to be complex. To show how powerful and easy to use the new EA uniTFTs display series are various DEMOPACKs are available from MMS Electronics Ltd. The latest addition is the EA DEMOPACK-WiFiBT evaluation board with a 2.8” EA uniTFTs028-ATC smart display. The DEMOPACK-WiFiBT includes radio micro controller ESP32 to add WiFi and Bluetooth communication to the smart display. The project for the ESP32-WROOM-32 is fully documented and shows how to connect a Bluetooth keyboard to the display and another example using Wi-Fi shows how to retrieve weather information from https://openweathermap.org and display the weather forecast on the smart display. The familiar Arduino IDE is used to program the ESP32 processor.
The EA DEMOPACK-WiFiBT includes a 2.8" IPS TFT smart display with PCAP touch P/N: EA uniTFTs028-ATC.
The EA uniTFTs smart displays get projects off to a flying start. With integrated graphics controller, extensive graphics functions, USB, I²C, SPI and serial interfaces. The displays are ready to run without additional peripherals. The EA uniTFT(s) displays use improved IPS-Panels with AACS technology (All Angle Colour Stability). This means contrast and colours are retained even at extreme viewing angles. With high brightness typ. 1,000 cd/m² and above the displays are readable in direct sunlight. Optically bonded PCAP touch. MMS Electronics Ltd has a series of high brightness IPS TFT displays available from Display Visions. These colour displays are the perfect replacement for monochrome displays. The displays are very impressive with the IPS (In-Plane-switching) technology, stable contrast and all-round viewing angles. Additionally most display have a maximum brightness of 1,000 cd/m² and can be viewed in direct sunlight. As a result, these screens are ideal for use in outdoor equipment and in medical instruments that require optimum visibility. The service life of the IPS TFT displays is 50,000 hours within the temperature range of -20°C to + 70°C. As well as the standard RGB connection (8-bit or 16-bit), some of the smaller displays have a 4-wire SPI interface and are compatible with standard microcontrollers. What is an IPS-TFT display? In-Plane switching is a technology that improves the viewing limitations of conventional TFT displays. In IPS TFT displays the light conducting liquid crystals are aligned parallel to the image plane. This means that colours and contrast remain brilliant and stable even when the viewing angle changes. These IPS TFT graphic displays have long term product availability and are highly recommended for use in new designs.
